Anthony Slonim, MD, DrPH, FACHE, President & CEO, Renown Health
Dr. Anthony (Tony) Slonim is the president and CEO of Renown Health and is a nationally-recognized thought leader.
He is a quadruple board-certified physician and holds a Doctorate in Public Health and Health Policy with Fellowships in the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Association of Physician Leaders and the College of Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Slonim has authored more than 120 publications and 15 textbooks, and is the editor-in-chief of the American Association of Physician Leader’s Physician Leadership Journal.
Dr. Slonim is recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential Leaders in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare and has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s “Physician Leaders to Know” list since 2014. In 2022 he will begin his term as a board member for the American Hospital Association.
Dr. Slonim’s leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic helped Renown establish community-wide testing and vaccination, and led to the construction of a 1,400 bed Alternate Care Facility.
In 2018, Gov. Sisolak appointed Dr. Slonim as a Commissioner on the Patient Protection Commission, a statewide task force responsible for improving access, affordability and quality of healthcare for all Nevadans.
Dr. Slonim graduated from New York Medical College, served four years in the U.S. Public Service Commissioned Corps, and earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in health policy from The George Washington University’s Center for Health Policy Studies.
Before joining Renown Health, Dr. Slonim served on the senior leadership teams for Barnabas Health in New Jersey, Carilion Clinic in Virginia and Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Cindy Carano
Cindy serves as Executive Director of Community Relations at The ROW in downtown Reno (which includes the Eldorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus casino/resorts). She is also a board member with the Downtown Reno Partnership. She has dedicated her career to philanthropy, community events and volunteerism. The daughter of Eldorado Resorts, Inc. (now Caesars Entertainment) founder Don Carano, Cindy has spearhead Reno’s community events, served on various boards, and has fostered Reno’s education programs, the growth of arts and culture, and the corporation’s civic giving.

As CEO and President of Renown Health, Dr. Tony Slonim sets out each day to make a genuine difference. His incredible influence on the health and safety of northern Nevadans is more apparent than ever as he helps lead our community’s fight against COVID-19. Tony was instrumental in developing Renown’s “surge curve” to ensure the healthcare system was using the best evidence available to assess readiness. The initial surge modeling led Renown to prepare by building the alternate care site (ACS), a 1,400-bed hospital constructed in less than a week in the Mill Street parking structure at Renown Regional Medical Center. Tony is a champion for COVID-19 testing to help slow the spread, and he worked diligently with his team to make on-site testing a reality at Renown. His ability to provide strong, calm and unwavering leadership during these unprecedented times is all thanks to his love for our community.

Ann Silver
Since 2016, Ann Silver has served as CEO of the Reno+Sparks Chamber of Commerce, which has grown to nearly 2,000 members under her leadership. Prior to becoming one of the key voices representing businesses throughout Northern Nevada, Ann worked for three years as executive director of JOIN, Inc., in Carson City, helping grow the agency that’s dedicated to workforce development for at-risk youth, dislocated workers, veterans and the disabled. She’s also held previous roles as CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada and Human Resources Director of the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, among other important professional and community roles.
